coming home outfit

okay so we finally picked out aiden's coming home outfit! it's too cute! adam loves monkeys so i figured it would be a good pick.

trip to labor and delivery

so friday morning i was thinking - i don't remember aiden moving much yesterday... so after i ate breakfast (a nice sugary donut and some apple juice) i laid down on my side for about 45 min. to see if he would move - i felt only one movement. so i went to work and was going to call the doctors office as soon as i got a moment. whenever i was sitting down and being still (which has been happening a lot more often - glad i have a good class!) i would pay attention to see if he would move at all - and nothing... so once i got my kids to lunch i called the doctors office and was told to go to labor and delivery to be monitored.

so adam came and picked me up from work and off to the hospital we went... i got strapped in and we were able to hear a heartbeat right away and the nurse said that everything looked okay - but i needed to stay for at least 20 min. she also asked if i felt him moving and when i said no she said that sometimes we get accustomed to the movement and just don't notice it - cause he was moving. after about 20 min. i was able to feel him move. i ended up being on the monitor for an hour because i had to wait for the doctor to get out of surgery to release me. i was released and told that everything looked and sounded good and hopefully they wouldn't see me again until i was ready to deliver! (my hope too!)

baby shower

had my baby shower last saturday... it was at 333 on broad and it was a nice time with my friends! i only have pictures that i took before it all got started... i'll post the rest once i get copies from karen - she took all the pictures.

my friend jennifer made this diaper cake - so cute!

and here is the cake... love it and it was yummy!!

oh and our friends kim and jason came down from tennessee for the weekend - kim is due a week after me!

35-36 weeks!

monday we had our dr. appt.

everything looks good - aiden is still head down and still locked and loaded! since i have been having pressure he decided to check my cervix and i'm still closed up! (sorry if TMI) but that is good - i really want him to stay in until at least march 1st!

i'm now on to weekly appts.

i have a baby shower on saturday!! :) and then my work shower will be on wednesday! exciting stuff!

buying a house

well adam and i have been house hunting... we probably really LOOKED at 20 houses or so (as in actually going inside)... well we found our house - and we have a contract right now. this past saturday we had our home inspection and it went well. we are going to put in another offer tomorrow - based on some repairs that need to be made.

the original closing date was feb. 25th - but now it will definitely be after aiden is born. and now we also have to make sure that we close well enough before march 26th because thats when adam will be going to the police academy for 10 weeks.

lots of changes in the turner household - but they are all for the best!

33 week appt.

well friday we had another doctor appt - 33 weeks and 2 days!

everything looks great

he did confirm my suspicions that aiden had indeed flipped to a head down position. he also said that he was "locked and loaded" basically - he wasn't just floating around - he already has his head in position in my pelvic bone. i really hope that doesn't mean that he's gonna come early!! i really want him to wait until AT LEAST march 1st!

i did also talk to my doctor about the field trip at 37 weeks and he did say that as of right now i am still okay to go - so i guess he isn't worried about him coming early - yet!

oh - so when we went to listen to his heartbeat - he had hiccups - and it was really hard to listen to it - we could hear about 2 beats and then he would hiccup and then there was a skip in his heartbeat. the dr. said that hiccups do that. i thought it was pretty cool to hear the hiccups - i have been waiting for hiccups and i think i might have felt them before - i just didn't realize thats what it was. and then yesterday i was definitely feeling hiccups. so i was glad to hear them at the office - because now i know what they are and what they feel like.

okay thats all on the baby front for now...
next appt. in 2 weeks!!

ready to hibernate!

and not really because of the cold... this baby belly is totally getting in the way! i don't have much desire to get a shower and get dressed any more - it takes so much more energy to do those everyday activities. i only have about 7 weeks left so i'm sure it's going to get much worse.

sleeping is getting difficult - either i can't fall asleep or i wake up every hour to go to the bathroom

i think aiden has finally flipped to the head down position because i think i feel his feet up in my ribs! and i was feeling some pressure in my pelvic area earlier last week...

i've been slowly working on aiden's room - washing clothes and getting them put away. we already have a lot of clothing thanks to some of adam's coworkers. i put all his clothes that are bigger than 3 months inside a tub since we won't need those right away.

oh and we are also a little crazy - we've been house hunting! would like to try to be in a house by the time aiden is here - or at least by the end of march... so we've started planning on packing up parts of the house.

all i can say is - hopefully the nesting instinct kicks in soon and sticks around a little... i could really use the motivation!
